600K Seniors in Foreclosure Crisis

Donation protected

Please do not make any further donations to this campaign. I have received only $50 and have contributed that to the presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders.  It was not enough to get real help on the issue of the problem for 600K Seniors in foreclosure on their reverse mortgages.  I do not feel this issue is of any real concern to the American Public at this time.

The reason for this change is clear. We will obviously get no help from any pro bono attorneys; we will get no help from committees or Congress;  and we will get no help from the Governors of our States who received the funds from settlements with the banks.   Perhaps Bernie will notice these Seniors and, given his sense of JUSTICE, will attempt to do something for us.

However, please sign the petition at http://chn.ge/1AomV9E asking Congress to help nearly 600K senior citizens in foreclosure on reverse mortgages.

BACKGROUND OF PROBLEM:

Seniors Targeted For Scams. "About 582,000 reverse mortgages were outstanding as of November 2011." http://huff.to/1zNMuDx

If you are a senior citizen, you should be especially concerned about this campaign. My campaign is mainly to help get legislation to help senior citizens fight foreclosures, Class action suit would be best to get settlement money from banks. Personal representation is another option, or funds for a down payment on another home when all else fails. I will use campaign funds to advertise to candidates for political office about this issue, or to get any other help from government or attorneys that I can buy with whatever funds I can get. Here is the problem.

We know that there are nearly 600,000 seniors in the U.S. are in foreclosure on reverse mortgages,  deserving help from a government that ignores us. Florida Hardest Hit Fund Under Federal Investigation http://huff.to/1CRptAJ
(Reference reverse mortgage help program.)

These are seniors who worked many years to build equity in our homes, not people who could be accused of diving into huge mortgages with a small down payment. So we believe each and every senior deserves defense against these particularly obnoxious foreclosures.

According to the New York Times, (@ http://huff.to/1zNMuDx)
“Some lenders are aggressively pitching loans to seniors who cannot afford the fees associated with them, not to mention the property taxes and maintenance. Others are wooing seniors with promises that the loans are free money that can be used to finance long-coveted cruises, without clearly explaining the risks. Some widows are facing eviction after they say they were pressured to keep their name off the deed without being told that they could be left facing foreclosure after their husbands died.

"Regulations and consumer protections in the mortgage industry are weak, and the elderly are an opportune target for abuse among unscrupulous lenders. Higher-than-average fees and commissions for the salespeople and companies that sell reverse mortgages, also drive incentive for exploitation.

"Seniors with reverse mortgages are facing foreclosure at an alarming rate. In 2012, nearly 10 percent of homes with reverse mortgages were taken by banks through foreclosure..... About 582,000 reverse mortgages were outstanding as of November 2011"

It would be helpful to bring this issue to the attention of Bernie Sanders who is running for the 2016 Presidential election. I will attempt to do this by sending his a copy of this campaign.

Thank you for considering this issue.
