The time has come - If I'm to continue the things I do in music and philanthropy, I have to ask for help. I'm C Bret Campbell, and if you are on this page, it's safe to assume that you know me somehow and have a reason to want to help me rebuild the aged and broken machines that are the backbone of my work.
As partner in Middle Tennessee Music, it's been a pleasure to help and guide thousands of musicians with their careers and internet endeavors for the past seven years. As a partner with Hangout Records I’ve gotten to see many of those musicians grow fantastic on-line video careers as well!
Working for charities to support autism awareness, animal shelters and many other projects with music festivals and concerts has been more of a blessing than a chore. Online in the past couple years, I've been able to provide shoes and water for children around the globe, hearing aids and protection, sleeping bags and food for the homeless, and homes for critters in several states.
As a musician, I took my performance from small bars to the internet a few years ago and since then, I've been blessed to get to know hundreds, even thousands of people who have been touched by the things I attempt to play. They have been an inspiration, motivating me to get through times in my life that really tested me.
All of these things have come to a debilitating crawl as of late. The computer used for making music, recordings and broadcasts is beyond obsolete and repair to the point that it must be replaced. This also means replacing a couple of other obsolete pieces of gear as well. Working with computers has been a great thing for musicians but for recording purposes, we know with each piece we decide to work with we will eventually be painted into a corner as computers and peripherals advance with technology.
The computer used for the internet end of things has suffered from age and constant abuse as well. It needs repair and upgrade, badly.
Top all that off with the fact that both the "family" computers - one of which handles my daughter's college and the other old dell that acts as an entertainment center - need repair as well.
How can you help? Well, I need to raise about $3,000 to make all this happen, so your donation would be greatly appreciated.
