Askew Family Disaster Relief

The Askew family has been hit hard this holiday season. Following an accidental mercury spill in their garage, they have lost almost everything they have. Their three children, Sean (16), Shelby (10), and Parker (9) have been hospitalized for several weeks and now their home is uninhabitable while the EPA and the TCEQ work diligently to remediate the mercury vapor damage to the home. They will lose more than 80% of their belongings including all their appliances, flooring, bedding, clothes and furniture. This effort will take several weeks and the parents must stay in hotels until the work is done.

While we are very thankful that the mercury can be cleaned and the children will recover, it's going to surely be a long and expensive process to bring the family back home together again. Unfortunately, none of the reconstruction cost or expenses to replace all they will lose is covered by insurance as it's considered a "pollution" event.

Many friends and family have approached us wanting to help and this is a great way to help them out. Any money they receive through this fund will go directly to re-homing the family.
