Hi! We are the Goulets. Our mom is not doing well after having two open heart surgeries and tons of complications. In 2010, our mom had surgery to replace faulty valves in her heart. Unfortunately, things didn't go well and she died twice on the table. She survived but has had problems ever since. She has trouble breathing and has to have oxygen all the time. We have to push her in a wheelchair wherever we go. We . don't even remember our mom being well and normal! She was evaluated for a heart and lung transplant and qualified but was told that she was too sick to survive either surgery. Our mom had to retire from her job of being a lawyer and now doesn't work. There are tons of things available to make her life (and ours) a lot easier! But insurance won't pay or the co-pays are so large we can't handle it. There is a portable respirator, a portable oxygen converter that makes it possible to fly on a plane. There is a car fitting devise that allows a scooter to attach to the back of the car. Also she takes TONS of medications every month. We just want to make our mom's life better so she can spend lots more quality time with us. We thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us. No amount is too small - or too large!
