our haiti adoption fund

Our journey towards bringing home our kiddos started long before anyone ever knew we were considering adoption.  It began with years and years of me (Summer) praying that Todd would want to adopt.  After we first got married, I mentioned to him that I wanted to adopt, that I had a heart and a desire to adopt, but his response left me thinking it would never happen.

After years of praying, Todd talking with a good friend, and reading the book Radical by David Platt, Todd came to me and said he was ready.  Please know that in the 10+ years I prayed for Todd, I maybe mentioned adoption twice to him.  This truly was an act of God that brought him to the conclusion that adoption was right for our family.  I cried tears of excitement & went into planning mode.  15 months later, we brought home Titus and Levi from DRCongo.

At this time we were pretty sure that our little family was complete.  We were a happy family of six with all it's chaos and issues, but we were the family that I always pictured we would have.  BUT GOD (Todd's favorite words in the Bible) had something else in mind.  Todd preached on Orphan Sunday.  He preached about what scripture calls us to do for those that are orphans, to advocate for the orphan, and to help the widow; to simply do something, to change something, to make a difference.  You see, we had been talking about adopting again for about 6 months, but after Todd had done his studying for his sermon and preached to a group of wonderful people, he said that we needed to stop talking about adopting and do something.  Adopt again.

That led us to adopting our 5th kiddo.  We are adopting a little girl from Haiti, once again using A Love Beyond Borders as our agency.  We could not be more excited to see our family continue to grow.  As we fundraise for our adoption, we are praying that God gives us the exact amount that we need... in the timing that we need it.  It truly seems impossible.  I sat awake for hours last night, praying that God would provide for this adoption, our first chunk of money is due right now.  Would you consider coming along side our family as we pursure adopting our 5th kiddo?
