San Bernardino is bankrupt, and the area is afflicted with both poverty and serious violence. The teenagers who live in that area really need our help to avoid continuing this cycle.
The Inland Teen Initiative wants to provide San Bernardino teens with free mental health services like free one-on-one and group therapy from licensed clinicians, as well as free academic support services like free tutoring from local college students.
For now, we host monthly programs for teenagers in the area. In September, we provided free backpacks, binders, dividers, paper, and pencils to over 40 students at San Bernardino High School. We want to do more.
Our goal is to open a community center specifically for local teenagers that will house our programs in addition to providing local teens with a SAFE place to study, get tutoring, and receive free mental health services.
We are asking for YOUR help to raise money so we can file for tax-exempt status with the IRS. This money will cover the document preparation service, as well as government filing fees (which are now $850). There are tons of grants available to help us achieve our goal and start saving these teenagers, but we can't get any of it without tax-exempt status.
So please, help us help these kids.
