On February 4, 2010 the world was blessed with a beautiful and spunky baby girl, Hailey Lee Duemmer. Now, at the age of 4, Hailey loves to sing her ABCs, dance and play with her sisters Abigail and Alexis.
On January 22, 2015, Hailey was rushed to the hospital with a temperature of 102 and extreme leg pain. Every parent’s nightmare was about to ensue. Shortly after arrival Hailey was quickly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and spent the next week in the hospital fighting to get her little body stabilized and healthy enough to go home. After several rounds of chemotherapy, antibiotics, and blood and platelet transfusions, she was stable enough to be released on January 30, 2015.
While Hailey is progressing well in her recovery, she has a very long road ahead of her. She will have to undergo chemotherapy for at least the next two years. Her parents, grandparents and relatives are all going to face unimaginable expenses. Whether it be uncovered medical expenses, travel to/from the hospital for treatments, or even a piece of medical equipment that can somehow assist with her day to day life, the costs are going to add up quickly. Hailey’s mom, Lisa, is her full time caretaker and is now unable to work.
My name is Lacey Ball (or as Hailey would say, Aunt Wace) and I am starting this fund to help us give Hailey the best care available and make her life as easy as possible during this extremely difficult time.
