My mother is the healthiest person I know. When she let us know on August 30th 2013 that her lab test on the lump that she found in her right breast came back positive for cancer I was shocked. She was always trying to keep our family eating healthy avoiding any red meat, staying abreast on recalls on meat and mad cow disease.
Nevertheless, this battle that was given her is fitting as she is also the strongest person I know. My mother decided that she would completely change her diet, switching to a raw, organic fruit and vegetable diet and tackle this cluster of abnormal cells from the inside out. She has stuck to the Gerson Therapy as opposed to going and getting Chemotherapy, which is a holistic and healthier route. Although this process takes much longer than radiation treatment or chemotherapy, it is well worth it in that it doesn't damage the immune system while fighting the cancerous cells. Between the 5 coffee enemas per day and her pure green juices every hour, the Gerson Therapy has assisted in isolating the tumor and bringing her body to an alkaline state.
However, this form of treatment is extremely expensive and is not covered by insurance since it is Holistic and Naturopathic and not considered medical. While my immediate family carried the burden for this past year, the exorbitant costs of organic vegetables and fruits plus the cost of furthering her treatment at Oasis of Hope in Tijuana, Mexico is proving more than we can handle. We are asking that anyone who is able, contribute anything that you can. Anything at all will be greatly appreciated.
