Stephen's Recovery

As many of you know, my cousin, Stephen (Gary), has shown us how strong he is by living with debilitating medical issues but now he is going through another fight and showing us he doesn't give up.  Last Wednesday, he drove himself to the hospital and was rushed in for emergency surgery to remove a big portion of his colon due to salmonella poisoning.  The bacteria had already entered his blood stream and due to Stephen's medical conditions, it has taken a great toll on his body.  He is now one week post surgery and although they have made attempts to remove him from the ventilator, his body is just not strong enough.  But, as Stephen has continued to do, he is giving the fight of his life.   He has truly shown all of us how not to give up no matter what the circumstances are.

Most of his family lives in Virginia.  Robin will be flying in on Friday and the family will continue to take turns so they can be with Stephen.

We all feel helpless because Stephen's recovery is in the hands of God and the medical staff (big thank you's to them).  His sister, Christa, said they have been incredible.

 Everyone has asked what they can do...first and foremost is prayer.  Please keep him in your prayers and pray for healing.    I tried to think, besides prayer, what can we do so I have set up this fund to help with Stephen's expenses as well as his family's travel expenses.
