Help Heavenly Host Lutheran Rebuild

Donation protected
Heavenly Host Lutheran School and Early Childhood Center was closed on Monday, March 9, 2015 due to a burst pipe in the sprinkler system.   Around 2:00pm on Saturday, March 7th, one of the water pipes broke and caused some major water damage at the school.  The break caused extensive damage to the 2nd grade room, with water reaching the floors in most of the other elementary school classrooms and one ECC classroom.

The amount that is listed is a generalized amount that will help get the money flowing for reconstruction.  A more specific amount will be given as we find out what our insurance can cover.

In addition, because of this break in our system, it was discovered that we need to replace a vast majority of our sprinkler system.  This will require a major inflow of funds to make our system secure for many years to come.

Although we have insurance and it will cover a portion of the costs for rebuilding, there are always costs that the insurance cannot or does not cover. The purpose of the fundraising is to ensure that our ministry continues to flourish and grow despite this disaster. To God Be The Glory!

The clean-up process has already begun and the disaster recovery team worked through the weekend to extract water and remove damage ceilings and walls as needed.   A majority of the damage is confined to the 2nd grade classroom, but several other classrooms were affected.  With the help of the faculty and church leadership, the items that were in the room have been moved and we are currently drying what can be salvaged.  During the day on Monday, volunteers from the church and the school faculty and staff went through the contents of the classroom to evaluate what can be saved.

We are in the process of formulating a list current needs and future needs, both for this classroom and for the school as a whole.   We know that people want to help and we are trying to find ways to incorporate helpers into our grand plan.

Many people have been asking, "How can we help?"  We have established this website to help generate funds to cover the losses that are not covered by insurance.  We ask that members of our church, school, and greater community donate what they feel is best to help the school recover.  We absolutely appreciate anything that our community can give.

The plan, as it stands now, is to resume classes on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. The 2nd and 3rd grades will be temporarily relocated to other rooms for this week. We hope that the reconstruction can occur during our Spring Break, with classes resuming as planned.
We appreciate everyone's patience as we have worked through many unanticipated snow days and then this disaster recovery process.  Please keep Heavenly Host Lutheran in your prayers as we move forward with the mission of spreading the Gospel to all in our midst.  May God bless our school.
