Tammy's Lung Transplant Fund

Donation protected
Tammy recieved her call yesterday morning, Sunday, March 13th, 2016 around 4:45 AM.  She was in surgery about 12 hours later and was in recvoery last night around midnight doing well.
Her dreams of new lungs and a renewed lease on life with her family and especially her two adorable and YOUNG grandchildren has begun to beome a reality thanks to the generosity of a donor's family.
Our goal from here is two fold:
1) Raise enough money to help Tammy and her family cover the medical expenses that will be their's for some time to come.  Insurance does not cover a lot of what Tammy will need including some medications that can run up to $300 a month!
2) To spread awareness of the miracles that can occur through Organ Donors generosity and to increase registration for that cause.

Our campaign is simple.
**Donate $1 to Tammy's fund.
**Thank God for the miracle and prayers answered thus far
**Prayer, positive thoughts and good energy sent for Tammy, her medical staff, her family and the donor's family.
**Register to become an Organ Donor if you have not already.
**Leave us a comment with your donation of $1 and let Tammy know you're thinking of her and that you're a registered Organ Donor; )
**Share her campaign with everyone.
Thank you all so much for your unending support of Tammy and her family on this journey.
We'll keep you posted.

This is how far we've come !!!!!

This fund is to help Tammy on her journey to a double lung transplant.

We are creating this fund to help with travel expenses to and from appointments in Boston, the ever increasing medical bills and to help support Tammy and her family as they face the very real possibility that they may have to relocate to another area for her to have a chance at receiving her life saving transplant.

Sadly the list of people waiting for Lung Transplants is longer than the list of those who are organ donors at the moment.  In order to have a better chance of receiveing her lungs in time to save her life, as her condition continues to deteriorate, she has been given an option to be listed in another area besides Boston.

For Tammy this would mean leaving her support system she has built behind and moving to an area where there is a shorter list of people waiting to double lung transplants. It would mean leaving much of her family behind as well at a time in her life when she needs them the most.  It would mean leaving behind at least one of her sons who has a family of his own now and possibly her other son as well.  It would mean leaving behind her granddaughter who has been one of the biggest supports and sources of encouragement for Tammy. That would be especially hard since her granddaughter is only 6 and her family is expecting another child in May.

She has done everything within her control to get on the waiting list and has spent countless hours advocating and bringing awareness to those around her about organ donation.  She has not sat by passively waiting for this to happen, that's not her style at all.  She is determiined and a fighter and a survivor and I am so fortunate to call her friend!

You see, to us, Tammy is not just a statistic on an ever increasing waiting list.  She is so much more.  She is a wife, mom, ma, sister, Auntie, Mimi, cousin, friend and an advocate for raising organ donation awareness itself.

The dual purpose of this fund raising effort is to continue her efforts to raise awareness of the very real need for organ donors as well.

To find out more about Tammy's story check out this article that was done on her in the Burlington Free Press here

Any support you can give will be greatly apprecaited.  If you cannot give fiancially pleast consider sharing this campaign and keeping her and her family in your prayers.

Remember: going without ONE cup of coffee a day for a month or that ONE soda or whatever it is, and making a donation,  could help Tammy receive her lungs and live her life to it's fullest potential.  To continue her quest to spread awareness of organ donation and to be able to enjoy the family she so loves and who love her so very much.  To spend time again with her granddaughter and soon to be grandson doing things they can all enjoy, and not sit on the side lines of their lives, would truly be one of the biggest blessings we could ask for!

Thank you so much!
