Honoring Henry

Henry Alexander Bley was born January 16, 2015.  He was two months premature.  He had a full head of hair and his parents, Alex and Molly fell in love with him instantly. 



While he spent his first couple of weeks in the NICU, he was released to go home in February 2015.  Throughout the next couple of months he was sick often, went to the doctor frequently, but never really appeared to be getting any better. On June 5, 2015, after numerous doctor visits and tests, he was diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH).  In short, his immune system cells aren’t working adequately to destroy infected or damaged cells like they should.  Currently, Henry is receiving treatment in the forms of a ventilator, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, dialysis, and medication.  He has been through more regarding his health than most of us have in our lives and he's only five-months-old.  As you can imagine this is a very difficult and stressful time for his family.  Please help us support them through their journey to get Henry healthy!

Update 7/8/15 Henry's HLH type is MUNC13-4

Update 7/16/15 "My little HLH warrior got his wings yesterday as he flew up to heaven to be with God. Henry fought hard but his little body couldn't fight anymore. He died yesterday afternoon. Mommy and daddy love you Henry and we can't wait to see you again!!!"
