Special Needs Dogs Need HELP!

We are starting 2017 at $4784--or the virtual zero point! Those previous gifts were used in 2016 to keep the Rescue Ranch dogs alive and well. Now, all funds raised after this marker--because the coffer is empty--will be for 2017. (I don't want to take down this page and start a new one in case people want to go back through photos or the history of the RR.) Thank you angels--all of you!

Helping special needs dogs unexpectedly became a calling, an opportunity to do what is morally right. They were being abandoned after being injured, becoming pregnant and even after being hit by a car, bones or organs literally were coming out of their bodies--all due to human abuse or neglect or simply accidents. No one was helping them so we decided that we'd fill the gap and not only help those that we could but teach others, so that they could...
Saving little Hope and her mama, Cherry, were the motivation behind Project Hope, the Canine Distemper Project.
In addition to working with Dr. Alson Sears and Ed Bond to get the treatment for canine distemper and parvo proved and out to vets far and wide, one of our founders writes an (almost) daily blog or article to pass on what we learn. "When you learn, you teach...," said Maya Angelou and that is exactly what we practice.
But, doing what is right comes at a great sacrifice, which we are more than willing to do BUT when a serious illness hit and medical bills and expenses start piling up, there isn't the reserve funds left to help the animals. We are falling far behind and need a step up to catch up otherwise we won't be able to continue.
We need to take the most adorable little Chihuahua, Bellie, in to an orthopedic specialist, trying to save her paw. In addition, she has Brittle Bone disease and needs a stem cell transplant from her body fat. Although the actual procedures are not included in this fundraiser, the initial exam and tests are--so are the medications and supplies for heart issues, incontinence, advanced diseases that their owners just didn't want to deal with but we were willing, special care and supplements for several animals with hip dysplasia, and so much more.
I pray that God puts it upon your heart to give as you can, or to even fill a Wish List item to offset some expenses and if you can't, to send up a prayer and to post this fundraiser so it reaches others who can help.

This little dog survived the partial amputation of his tail--and now is healing emotionally. It takes lots of time and attention to heal not only their bodies but their souls, too, but it is so worth it.
Maggie had been tied overnight to a shelter door with her uterus prolapsing--coming out of her! Thankfully, a vet saved her, operated and then, because she has hip displaysia as well, asked that we take care of her at the Rescue Ranch.
Brindy ( on top) and Millie are now inseparable! Millie was found as a little puppy, wandering through a neighborhood with a crushed jaw, the bones exposed. Brindy, had distemper and was spayed at eight weeks and sick, giving her an almost incurable case of demodex mange. Thankfully, on the third course of treatment, she is now doing well but has heartworm disease as well. They are both beautiful animals inside and out!
There are four wheelchair girls at the Rescue Ranch--Pasha (paralyzed after being hit by a car before she was surrendered); Sissy and Bellie, who were left out in a field alone, with their front legs broken in several places; and Bunny, who at six weeks, had been hit by a car, had distemper, and three types of mange and was rescued just minutes from being euthanized. She now loves to dance (with a little help)...
