Help Nick Read

Nicholas is a very outgoing, extroverted, funny, and bubbly 7-year-old boy. Nick enjoys playing video games, watching YouTube video commentators, and playing outside with his friends.
However, in school, Nick has somewhat of a challenge. Due to what doctors believe was an effect of meningitis, Nick is deaf in one of his ears. This makes it extremely hard for Nick to annunciate correctly, hear clearly when others are speaking to him, differentiate certain letter sounds, and even affects his balance!
Our mother has to go to countless meetings, tests, and seminars with Nick to figure out what would be the best solution to help him to do better academically. Considering the fact that Nick has a hard time hearing words correctly, this effects his spelling test scores, reading, and anything literacy related. Of course, all this could be time consuming and frustrating if we cannot seem to find the best resolution.
Although it is very agonizing seeing my brother struggle, we have not given up hope. A summer program near where we live is specializing in literacy and reading help for kids that are behind in literacy goals. This program would be excellent for Nick because this will help him gain the skills he could not get during the regular school year!
The program costs three hundred and fifty dollars. This presents a problem for my family since we are a single-income family. If my mom pays for this program out of her own pocket, it will set back a few other things we need.
