Help Me March DCI Spirit of Atlanta!

Donation protected

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Garrett and I have a huge passion for color guard. On December 8th, 2013 I was offered a chance to march and spin with Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. For about two years I have dreamed of being a part of DCI organization and after all my hard work it has finally paid off.
While living in Dayton, Ohio I was first introduced to color guard while I was in the fourth grade. I then moved to South Carolina where I began spinning again in the eighth grade at Lexington High school. Since then I have only improved and increased my talents, starting off with the cadet guard while in the eighth grade, blue guard (junior varsity) during my freshman year, and gold guard (varsity) throughout my sophomore and senior year of high school. I have also participated in the marching band guard throughout my sophomore and senior year of high school. During my senior year of high school I was honored with the opportunity to become a captain over our marching band color guard and winter guard. After I graduated high school, I knew I would have to keep spinning throughout college. By that time I decided to join Coastal Carolina's Color Guard. I have recently completed my second season with them and plan on returning for a third season after my tour with Spirit of Atlanta during the summer of 2014.
Being contracted with Spirit of Atlanta's Color Guard means I am obligated and committed to attending every camp scheduled. I will move in with the entire corps and learn our 2014 show in May. After learning the show we will be on the road competing across the country all summer long from June until August.
Color Guard has made a huge impact on my life. It is so much more than what meets the eye. I can honestly say I do not know where I would be without it. I have made some of the best friends and amazing experiences since picking up a flag. I have grown as a person and learned tons valuable life lessons. With this amazing opportunity I know I will be able to take my abilities to new heights and make life long memories. Any small donations will help immensely! If I have every one of my Facebook friends donate 5 dollars I will have completed my goal and then some.

Your donations will contribute to
-Food
-Housing
-fuel/transportation
-equipment
-performance wear
-camp fees

If by chance I go over my goal I plan on donating the rest of the money to the Autism Speaks Organization in honor of my little brother William!

If you are unable to donate I completely understand, I would only ask for you to please share this with your friends and help make my dreams turn into a reality. Thank you so much for checking out my page and giving me your time and consideration! If there are any questions please feel free to reach me at this email address: [email redacted]stal.edu
