Help LeBron Dunk for Charity Dollars

Let's raise enough donations for a worthy charity, the LeBron James Family Foundation in order to convince LeBron to enter the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest.  Through GoFundMe, I will collect donations on behalf of the LeBron James Family Foundation that are entirely contingent upon James' participation in the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest.  In other words, the only way everyone's donations are transferred to his foundation is if we get to see King James throw down Saturday night in Houston.  If James doesn't participate, all donations will be refunded.

If this is successful everyone wins: the fans, the game of basketball and most importantly the LeBron James Family Foundation.  There is certainly no guarantee that $50,000, $500,000 or even $5 million will convince him to participate, but let's raise enough money to make him an offer he can't refuse.

I completely understand you are trusting that an unknown individual (me) will actually follow through with everything said on this page.  I would probably be a little skeptical too.  But let's put it this way, it wouldn't exactly be easy to ride off into the sunset with all of the donations, given the amount of publicity the campaign has already received.  In addition to the Facebook validation on the top of this page, below is a link to my LinkedIn profile, to further reinforce that I am an normal guy with only good intentions.

Details:
If the project is successful ALL proceeds, net of fees charged by GoFundMe and its payment processor WePay, will be donated to the LeBron James Family Foundation.  When you are completing the contingent donation, it will say the payment will go to "Chris Thomas".  The account is under my name, so I can take care of the refund process if need be.  I have ZERO monetary interest in this project and the LeBron James Family Foundation will have full access to the account prior to receipt of any proceeds in order to audit all transactions.  I have also offered to provide my WePay account log-in information to a representative from the LeBron James Family Foundation to ensure complete financial transparency throughout the process.  I repeat ALL proceeds will go to this charity if James participates in the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest.

If this project is unsuccessful, all donations will be refunded through WePay within 90 days of the date of donation.  Under this scenario, if you donate $10, you will get all of your $10 back.

I do not represent LeBron James or the LeBron James Family Foundation in any way, shape or form.  Nor do I represent his interest in participating in this project or the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest.  This is simply an idea to raise money for charity and hopefully see James revitalize the Dunk Contest because of it.
