On July 17th, the evening before her 19th birthday, Kidessa Shattuck was shot in a freak shotgun accident. The shot blew-off a significant chunk of her right shoulder, shattering the “ball” portion of the ball and socket of her shoulder bone, and destroying her deltoid muscle.

A portion of her upper shoulder is completely missing. Surrounding the primary impact area, there are also over a dozen pieces of buckshot still lodged in the tissue.

Kidessa is able to move her right hand, fingers, and elbow- but currently cannot raise her arm up because of the missing muscle and joint (bone mass).

The surgeon is anticipating multiple reconstructive surgeries over the next few years.  The surgeries will involve putting in metal plates to stabilize the bone, and there has been discussion of sending her to a Mayo Clinic for a donor shoulder bone replacement.

Kidessa is in a lot of pain but in good spirits.

How you can help:

-     pray for miraculous regenerative growth for the missing areas of her shoulder

-     donate to her healing fund
