I want to personally thank each...
I want to personally thank each and every person who made the luau benefit so special. What a blessing it was to my mom and our family. We could feel all of the love and support that surrounded is.
We are now counting down the remaining chemo treatments, which are scheduled to end the last week of August. The doctor did say that he expects cancer to still remain, and regardless, a masectomy will be scheduled wor the fall. Radiation will follow and the steps will be repeated until we hear those few words that our family is longing to hear...no Cancer present. My mom is still really fatigued and tired. The poisonous chemo is wearing on her body. Please continue to pray for her strength to keep pushing through.
My brother, her son, Matt is expected to return home from Iraq in a few months. He has been serving away from home for the past year. Just knowing that he will be returning soon is such a relief and excitement that my mom has to look forward too. I am also asking for prayers over his safe return, and his stress level of being submerged into this world of cancer that was not here when he left.
Also, please continue to pray for God to continue providing the means to pay incoming medical bills, etc. What an amazing God we have, and he sure has provided in ways that we could never have imagined.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support....your love....your kind words...and your prayers. You have ministered to our family in such a special way these past few months.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

I am so excited to invite...
I am so excited to invite everyone to the upcoming benefit for my mom. It is a Luau Auction, and all of the money will go to offset her medical expenses. We have had some absolutely amazing donations! The auction will be simply phenomenal! I would be better off naming the businesses in the local community that have not donated! We have themed baskets galore, tanning packages, vacation packages, spa packages, cases of chicken, a photo booth rental (think weddings, family reunions!) etc. etc. etc. We also will have a photo booth set up at the event for the fun of it, baked goods, t-shirts, and other goodies! We will also have a booth set up if you want to get a pink hair feather extension (the latest trend!) in support of breast cancer. The food that has been donated is awesome and let's just say that we will be eating good that night! There will be an outdoor oral auction as well as an indoor silent auction. Have I mentioned the raffles yet either? All of this for $10 a ticket, and $5 for a child. That is pretty cheap for a night of fun, hope, love, and support with your family and friends. I promise you that there is something for ALL ages! This event will be held at Akron Springfield Assembly of God
1551 Canton Rd
Akron, OH
On Saturday, July 16 from 4-9pm
Mark your calenders!!!
On a side note, my mom has had her good days and bad. She is getting chemo on a weekly basis now, so not much time to recover this round. She is very grateful and appreciative for all of the prayers and support she has recieved. Our local community, online community, family and friends have been a true blessing.

The first round (4 sessions) of...
The first round (4 sessions) of chemo is officially over, and the next is about to start. This will be 12 weeks of weekly chemo treatments with a different drug. I am personally asking for prayer that the side effects of this drug are minimal. Thank you for all of your support through this. It is so amazing to know how many people are praying for my mom and our family. I am still trying to raise money to offset these ridiculous expenses, so if anyone has any ideas, pleae share! Thank you, thank you!

About This Page
My mom's diagnosis of Inflammatory Beast Cancer (a rare type of breast cancer) has changed the life of our family, very quickly. It has changed schedules, lifestyles, and has drastically had an impact on finances, for the worse. This horrible disease has come into my mom's life out of nowhere, and flipped it upside down in six very long, test filled, doctor visiting, chemo administering, nurse meeting, bill paying weeks. If you were to look at her, you wouldn't think that she looked all that sick yet, but she is. She really is. Even survival mode cannot take away the gruesome side effects of chemo. The nausea, pain, and extreme fatigue is overwhelming to watch at times, and I can only imagine how much worse it is for the person going through it, my mom. She is almost fifty, a mom of three, grandma of two, wife, friend, sister, daughter, and now breast cancer patient. Will you help?
It is no secret that medical bills can pile up quickly, and very quickly we are realizing. I am trying to raise money to help support her and my dad through this. Thank you for all of your prayers, support, donations, and love. We have some truly amazing family and friends. Please also feel free to pass this site along to anyone else who will pray.
**So, What is Inflammatory Breast Cancer?
Inflammatory breast cancer is a rare, fast-growing type of breast Cancer. It is often called IBC for short.
Unlike other breast cancers, this type of cancer may not cause a lump in the breast. So regular breast exams and mammograms often fail to catch it early. Because it grows so fast, it usually has spread by the time it is diagnosed. In my mom's case, the cancer has NOT spread (praise the Lord!). IBC is treated more aggresively and often requires more rounds of chemotherapy to kill off those bad cancer cells.
(The picture I chose to use for this page is one of my mom, brother, me, and my sister. It was taken about a month before her diagnosis. My brother had just arrived home for a two-week leave from Iraq. While I am asking for prayers, will you also please pray for him? He is currently back in Iraq serving our country, while dealing with this emotional news from home. Thanks!)

I am so so sorry to hear this Christina. I met your mom and grandma a couple weeks ago at the Y (she was next door at Summa) and they are the sweetest women ever! I am familiar with IBC b/c I recently thought I had it. I will be praying for your mother and your family. I would like to donate money and will be sending you a check in the mail. Take care, Kristy
