Send Francisco to School
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Sophia Fox and I'm currently a sophmore at New Trier High School in Wilmette, Illinois. Today, I am asking for your donations in order to help an underprivileged kid to further his education. Where I live, education is considered normal and if you were to not graduate high school, you would be seen as "different" or "not smart enough". However, what people do not realize is that more than 60 million children around the world do not even have this opportunity.
In Guatemala, completing an education is a luxury many cannot afford. Kids have to start paying for school after junior high. However, because of their low incomes many families cannot afford to continue their studies. Francisco and his family make about $10 a day, which has to support all 7 people living in their house.
What I am asking for from you is to help me donate to Francisco's future, along with other kids in the same situation later. We are trying to raise $1500 so Francisco can afford school for the next 3 years and go on to follow his dream of becoming a business administrator. Each year of school is about $500, which in total adds to $1,500.
I go to this part of Guatemala every summer because my mom grew up there, and for this project I have been working with our old friend, the vice-mayor of the town, Hector Girón, to make sure that the money gets to Francisco and is used for his education.
Thank you, anything is greatly appreciated.
