SimpleMentesLibres (Simply Free Minds) is a partnership looking to empower the youth of the world and create mindfulness through education. We believe communication is key to opening up opportunities for young people. Our debut project will be a hand drawn flashcard game inspired by ninjas. This deck will focus on learning the verb “to be”. Each consecutive deck will have its own focus either on new verbs, tenses or phrases. We plan to create additional engaging language learning materials for kids.
We’d like to take a minute to introduce ourselves. I’m Jaime and through my 20 years of working with youth as a caregiver, workshop leader and language teacher, this project was born. Experience has taught me that kids are most inspired to learn when the activities are fun. I would like to share the opportunity to learn mindfulness and character building skills so kids can become happy, healthy adults.
And this is my partner Carlos, he’s obsessed with anime and is the illustrator behind all the drawings. After we met, we soon discovered a shared desire to create a more open-minded way of teaching kids language skills. Over several years we have built up an archive of business connections, illustrations and teaching techniques and are now ready to share them with you!
What we’ve discovered while trying to get these flashcards off the imaginary shelf and into reality, is that doing this project in a way that fits with our worldview is expensive. We are reaching out to you, our community, for support. Here is your opportunity to help make a future where universal values like kindness, cooperation, self-reliance and healthy actions for our bodies and planet will be promoted and adopted into everyday life.

SimpleMentesLibres es una cooperativa que aspira a capacitar a los jóvenes del mundo y a despertar su conciencia a través de la educación. Creemos que la comunicación es un elemento clave en la apertura de oportunidades para los jóvenes. Nuestro proyecto inicial será la creación de un juego de cartas educativas dibujadas a mano e inspiradas en ninjas. La primera baraja se centrará en el aprendizaje del verbo "To be". Cada baraja sucesiva se centrará en un tema específico, ya sea otros verbos, tiempos verbales o vocabulario. Planeamos crear además material adicional para el aprendizaje de idiomas para niños.
Quisiéramos presentarnos brevemente: Yo soy Jaime y este proyecto se ha ido gestando a lo largo de mis 20 años de trabajo con jóvenes como cuidadora, jefa de talleres y profesora de idiomas. La experiencia me ha enseñado que la motivación de los niños por aprender aumenta cuando las actividades son divertidas. Me gustaría poder ofrecer la oportunidad de formar las capacidades de toma de conciencia y del desarrollo de la personalidad para que los niños puedan convertirse en adultos felices y saludables.
Y este es mi compañero Carlos, obsesionado con el Anime japonés e ilustrador de todos los dibujos del proyecto. Al poco tiempo de conocernos descubrimos nuestro deseo común de generar una metodología didáctica más abierta para la enseñanza de capacidades lingüísticas para niños. Durante varios años hemos ido recopilando un fichero de relaciones comerciales, ilustraciones y metodologías de enseñanza y ahora ¡ya estamos listos para compartirlos con todos vosotros!
Durante el proceso de extracción de las tarjetas del estante imaginario hacia la realidad aprendimos que para llevar a cabo este proyecto ajustandonos a nuestra visión del mundo, sería necesaria una inversión importante. Es por ello que nos dirigimos a vosotros, nuestra comunidad, solicitando vuestro apoyo. Esta es vuestra oportunidad para contribuir en la creación de un futuro en el que se promuevan y aprueben valores universales como la bondad, la cooperación, la autosuficiencia y acciones saludables para nuestro cuerpo y planeta en la vida cotidiana.
