Helen's Adhisthana Dharma Training

Donation protected
Helen has been selected for one of the sought after spaces on the Womens Dharma Training and is going to Adhisthana for 5 whole months! Leaving on the 21st February she will join a handful of young women to live in community and study the Dharma.

Since coming across Buddhism and recognising the importance of it in her life, Helen has not shied away from making significant life changes to bring her life more into alignment with the precepts.

These changes  have not always been easy.  From leaving her corporate career, moving out of her neat little flat into a shared house with another person from the Glasgow Sangha, to taking up the reigns for Glasgow Young Buddhists and volunteering in the Glasgow centre, she has boldly followed her beliefs. I have seen her generosity to others and It feels fitting that she should have this commitment recognised and to have this unique opportunity to deepen her practice.

Here are a few words from Helen herself:
Meeting the Dharma has been an open invitation for me to really look, question, feel, experience and to explore life. It's like I'm learning what it is to be truly human and live in connection with other people and indeed all of life. My journey has been one of gradually uncovering my natural values and making space to live more in flow with these; so there have been times of deeper warmth and beauty, but also times when I've felt fearful of all the change. Thankfully I've been continually supported with friendships, teachings, hugs, listening, witnessing and encouragement - in innumerable ways from little to large. The opportunity to now go and live in community with eight other women and continue this exploration together feels deeply valuable, moreover in going to Adhisthana it's like I can feel the support of the whole Sangha, that I'm one drop in wave. This is a significant shift in the course of my ever-more-fluid life with a future made wide open, a shared future that I will hopefully meet with more creativity and warmth. I feel so very glad. Thank you.

She will be missed for sure by the Glasgow and indeed Scotland Sangha and very much welcomed back too!

The total cost of the training is £3000, Helen has half of this amount saved and hopes that we can help her raise the remaining £1500.

If you are able to make any donation, big or small, all will help and be very much appreciated. It's also an opportunity to leave any words of encouragement or support you may have ;-)

Thank you
