Heath's Top Surgery Fundraiser

Hello friends, family,  acquaintances and fellow facebookers.  For those of you who don't know, I am in the process of transitioning from female to male.  I started this life as Heather and after 30 years of living, first in denial, then in fear I have finally come to accept and embrace who I am.  Heath!   

As part of this journey of self discovery and transition, I have decided to have my breasts surgically removed.  This surgery, also known as "top surgery" will give me a more masculine chest, a much more positive self image and outlook on life, and be a literal huge weight lifted off my shoulders.  

Every dime raised will go toward this surgery and any/all medical treatment I may need afterward, including prescriptions in case of infection, pre-op and post-op expenses.  

My goal is to have enough money to get the surgery in July of 2017.   It takes 9 months to fully heal so I figure I'll be ready for the warmer weather activities by April of 2018.  (I can't wait!!)

It's hard to describe what it's like to be born in the wrong body.  Try to imagine... waking up every morning, stuffed into a heavy coat that doesn't fit.  The fabric is too tight, too warm, too itchy.  Physically that's as close as I can get, description wise.  Then imagine your brain is wired for one gender and your body reflects another.   Getting this surgery will be a major step towards correcting that and healing my self image.  Every step of this process, this journey, allows for more and more of my true self to emerge and THAT is life changing!
