Bring Healthy Haiku 4 Youth Across U.S.

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

Healthy Haiku Productions, LLC has been serving the community since 2006 bringing exciting didactic health education workshops to youth and training to mentors, teachers and parents. Our award-winning educational curriculum is rooted in science and artistic expression using poetry, spoken word, drama, music and more to empower youth to make healthy choices in all areas of their lives. The curriculum includes nutrition (childhood obesity prevention); smoking, drinking, drug use; violence "“with a focus on anti-bullying; HIV/AIDS; delaying sex; and mental health. Building self-esteem and the stimulation of creativity are threads that run through all of our workshop topics.

Haiku is a poetic form that originated in Japan in the seventeenth century. It uses 17 syllables to tell an important story concisely and with few words. Our workshops take participants through an interactive and educational brainstorming process that results in the creation of their own poetry and prose. We have several unique program offerings including (but not limited to): (1) a Train-the-Trainer program for mentors, teachers, parents and others; (2) workshops for "tweens" and teens; and (4) Motivational and Keynote Speeches/Presentations.

We have published two books in the Healthy Haiku Series. The first, Promoting Healthy
Knowledge, Attitudes and Behaviors among Youth Using Haiku and Creative Expression: A Training Manual for Mentors
, provides mentors with a step-by-step curriculum guide for holding HH Workshops and is used for instruction during the workshops with youth. The second book, Healthy Haiku Poetry: Using Creative Expression To Transform Youth contains exercises and information for the entire family. Several additional books are scheduled for publishing by June, 2013. One is on preventing obesity in children and teens and another is promoting healthy nutrition in young children with rhyming Haiku.

Along with our brilliant team of Facilitators/Trainers who have many years of experience educating youth and facilitating workshops, we are scheduling our workshops, training and speaking engagements for the current year. We are hoping to partner with thousands of organizations across the U.S. in order to get this important information to as many youth and adults working with youth as possible. Many organizations that wish to engage our services do not have funds or sponsors to make it happen.

GoFundMe funds will be used to bring this amazing workshop to schools, summer camps, mentoring organizations etc. all over the U.S. Each 90 minute workshop costs $350 (currently discounted to $200). We are asking our friends and family members to donate just $5 and to share this with all of your contacts to support this campaign. We appreciate you so much and want the best for our children and teens across the U.S. All levels of support selected below will earn points for organizations to earn a free workshop. Thank you for your donation and support.
