On Saturday, January 24, 2015 a 63 year old Dorchester man by the name of Leon Haywood a plumber for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority was the victim of a hit and run car accident . Leon was left for dead, this was an atrocious violent act against a human being. The perpetrator of this vehicular hit-and-run has not yet been caught.
Leon was the primary breadwinner for his home his wife Jestina Haywood is physically challenged due to a debilitating stroke she was afflicted with over 8 years ago.
Leon is currently in the hospital in very critical condition ; he has two broken legs, broken ribs ,a broken jaw head trauma and is also on dialysis.
The doctors believe that he will be in rehab for several months just to walk and learn how to do basic things again. This site is put together to raise money for the Haywoods living expenses and possibly their relocating to a home which will be more accessible to those who are physically challenged.
