Your donation was greatly appreciated Patrick! I am sure Ella has filled you in on the wonderful services that are provided through Haven of Hope--but of course, without our support from family, friends and community--the ability to reach so many youth in need would be significantly limited. Thank you again!
Wow Tori...eloquently expressed and all I can say is THANK YOU for sharing your private journey. You inspire me and I am sure anybody who reads this. Having been adopted myself I can relate to some of the challenges and rough beginnings that you speak about. The Haven of Hope Team is honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of your experience and we are so excited to hear that you are now working with others facing challenges of their own. So very cool.
Hi Melanie....thank you so much for your beautiful and inspirational quote capturing your view on life. The Haven of Hope Team is excited to see where your dreams lead you and look forward to the wonderful splash you leave on the world around us.
Sabrina was kind enough to share her experience with us. The strength and inspiration represented by Sabrina (and many of these young adults) never ceases to amaze me. All of us can use a helping hand from time to time but it is the individual who makes the significant decision to never bow from the challenges that life may throw upon them. Thank you again Sabrina for being willing to open up!
Jeff - we thank you for your kind donation and appreciate the boost! You've been helping this same population target for years so it is an honor to receive your active support. By the way, we hope your long deliveries provides you some well deserved peace of mind and some cool on the road adventures.
Hi Marissa - thank you so much for sharing your personal story! I know Davina and her Team are extremely proud of your accomplishments..and you should be as well. Haven of Hope can provide tools, guidance and strong support but YOU chose to incorporate what you learned. That takes courage and strength! Thanks again for sharing.
Thank You Marissa
Hi Sue and Brent....Davina and the entire Haven of Hope Team are extremely thankful for your two donations. You just tipped us over the #2K mark!
I also know you have been strong supporters throughout Haven of Hope's history. It means a great deal to us and I know we couldn't have accomplished as much over the years without our community partners. Thank you again!
By the way, for those of you out there who have serious transportation trucking needs-- checkout Brent Redmond Transportation ( http://brentredmond.com
). Not only are they strong community supporters and know the value of "family" but they are leaders in the transportation industry. You will be treated like family and your business is highly valued.
Hey Marilyn..thank you so much for the support and wonderful donation!! By the way, I hope you are relaxing and enjoying a well earned retirement.
We are truly blessed to have some passionate supporters and the Team at Haven of Hope extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to our recent anonymous donor who surprised us with a $1000 donation.
I know the video quality may be low since we took this with a cell phone but we wanted to share a quick peek into all the work Haven of Hope, many donors, friends, family and volunteers are trying to complete. With your help we will turn this into a beautiful Home for foster youth that are transitioning into adulthood. We will try to post more images, videos and of course, completed Home when it is all ready. All your support with donations is a huge help and we couldn't have made it this far without you! Please help us reach that $15K goal...

A heart felt 'shout out' to our most recent Anonymous Donor - THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your wonderful donation that recently came through. Your support is so greatly welcomed.
Oh my goodness..thank you so much to the anonymous donor who donated a couple minutes ago with a very generous amount of $100. I know the foster youth that will benefit from this donation are greatly appreciative as well. Thank you again for your support and taking the time to learn about what we do at Haven of Hope.
Thank you Sarah for sharing your personal experience about Haven of Hope. We are proud of you and your accomplishments. I know the Haven of Hope Team was honored to have been a part of your life journey. I think your story will have a significant impact on other youth who may be trying to overcome personal challenges in their own lives and demonstrate that it is possible to come out even stronger at the end of it all!
Thank You For Sharing Your Story Sarah
Hey Dan...we are very happy to have your support and agree that these young people have experienced some rough obstacles in their initial years...but wow, what tremendous hearts and resilience some of these young people have demonstrated. The desire to be successful and productive is strong in many of them.. and they aren't looking for free handouts but rather an "opportunity" that will open their spirits to hope. And once that is fueled, watch out....these young adults will amaze you! Thank you again for your contribution-you rock.
To our kind anonymous donor: Team Haven of Hope is so thrilled to have your support. Thank you so much for your $25 dollar donation. It is so helpful and very much appreciated.
Team Haven Of Hope is working hard to turn this house into a HOME for youth aging out of the system. The hardest part was to secure a house...now with the help of friends, family, and community donors we hope to be able to furnish the home to completion. Many friends, volunteers and family members have already initiated the elbow grease to improve a few cosmetics. Please help us to the finish line with a small donation so that we can fill the house with some needed furnishings.
This image shows the "before".....and once we reach completion...I will share the "after" photos as well...
Making It Home
Gena you are awesome! Every amount helps and I am so thankful for your contribution. By the way I love following your facebook trail regarding your boat adventures. That has got to be a thrill!
Here is a wonderful shot of the Haven of Hope Team. These Ladies provide energy, passion and heart to supporting and guiding youth as they transition into adulthood.
Team Haven of Hope
WOW....Thank you Kevin for your generous donation to help kickstart us in the right direction. We truly appreciate the support!
Did you know that 65% of foster youth emancipate from the system without a place to live...less than 3% go to college...and 51% are unemployed. On top of that, emancipated females are 4 times more likely to receive public assistance than the general public. This is the direction that Haven of Hope is focused on changing. Please consider helping us get our new program off the ground. We would like to provide a furnished home to these youth with support services that they can readily access - all focused on helping them towards self-sufficiency and successful adulthood.
Haven of Hope has been supporting vulnerable youth since 1998 and has been privileged to watch many youth grow into beautiful young adults. Despite these successes, we have also witnessed many youth fall through the gap after they age out of the system due to minimal or no support.
Our "Supporting Transitional Age Youth" (STAY) program is designed to bridge that gap that lies between our foster youth and successful adulthood.
These youth will no longer be living in a highly structured group home, but will now face the challenges of true independence, along with the realities of living on one's own, such as financial responsibilities, accountability and employment demands.
This can be a scary endeavor for any young person living on his or her own for the very first time. Haven of Hope's STAY program (Supporting Transitional Age Youth) provides the freedom and flexibility for young adults to live life within the decisions they make - in a safe, loving environment - while providing the youth the comfort of knowing that the Haven of Hope Team is only an arms length away with guidance, support and advice, if quickly needed.
When we reflect on our own growth during these initial years of freedom, many of us recognize that help was always within reach thanks to our network of family and friends. In fact, we might even have taken it for granted. Unfortunately, many of these young adults don't have such a network of support or family and may just be beginning to build a circle of support that they will rely on throughout their lives. Our STAY program nourishes this process and promotes lasting success.
Support in the following areas is also provided through this program so youth have the greatest chance of success after they graduate at the completion of two years:
-Life management skills training
-Grocery & Shopping assistance
-Medical & Mental Health Services
We are now asking friends, family and community to help us provide these youth a furnished home. Haven of Hope has secured the housing but is struggling to furnish both homes. This has become a challenge since we are furnishing two of everything, (i.e. beds, couches, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves or any other appliance a Home has when you move in). This can quickly add up.
We would like the Homes to reflect comfort, love and safety so the youth can focus on overcoming their challenges and have the greatest opportunity to successfully transition into adulthood. Please help us make it a Home.
ALL MONEY DONATED GOES TO HAVEN OF HOPE TO BE USED FOR THE TRANSITIONAL AGE YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTLY TO FURNISH THE HOMES. ANY FEES TIED TO USING GOFUNDME IS BEING PAID BY A DONOR SO THAT ALL DONATIONS RAISED WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THIS CAUSE.
