I, Elycia Tenney, Barbara Lee’s daughter, have set up this fundraiser in order to aid in raising funds for our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Hannah’s surgery and subsequent medical costs.
Hannah is 7 years old and has just been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. Bone cancer. Hannah has battled cancer and surgery before, having a mast cell tumor removed about 8 months ago. She bounced back wonderfully only to then be diagnosed with this bone cancer one week ago.
After weighing our options with our veterinarian, oncologist, and those closest to us and Hannah, we’ve decided that the amputation of her front, left leg is the best option to allow Hannah the best chance at as close to a normal, happy life post-surgery as possible. Following the amputation, she will receive chemotherapy that will further slow the cancer’s progression, should any have spread to the rest of her body.
Hannah is our heart dog-- we love her more than words can express. She has the most wonderful, kind, and loving soul. “Happy Hannah” has not let any of this get her down and we know she will adjust well with three legs. Many other dogs do. Most within hours of waking up post-op!
We have to give her a chance—she has given us too much not to.
My mom has been battling health issues of her own, traveling to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio multiple times in the last few months to receive her own surgery on her heart, and is now coping with a torn ligament in her knee. She can barely walk at the moment. So, for her, her own medical bills have completely exhausted any and all of her savings and emergency funds.

Here’s a breakdown of the impending costs:
$600 – Initial consultations with our veterinarian and oncologist, pain medications, and x-rays
$3,000 – Additional x-rays once Hannah is sedated as well as the amputation surgery of her front, left leg performed by an orthopedic surgeon
$2,500 – Post-op chemotherapy treatments
