Haiyan: Aftermath of a Perfect Storm

As you know on November 8th 2013, Typhoon Haiyan devastated the central Philippines. In spite of a courageous relief effort by the United States and many other countries, the people there are still suffering. Many are without the basic needs of survival. They need food, water, medical supplies, sanitation, and shelter materials. We cannot rely on the government to help us all.
I was in the Philippines in October to attend to the burial of my father who passed away. After the services for him I went to Tacloban to visit my family and friends. Typhoon Haiyan hit while I was there. I was in my family home with my 2 sons, daughter-in-law, and 2 granddaughters and a few friends. During the early part of the typhoon we were on the bottom floor of our house not knowing what to expect. The roof came off first and then the water came and it came fast. We rushed upstairs and started making plans of what to do if we ended up in the water. The house filled with water but luckily we survived. But the house is probably beyond repair. Everything lost. Tacloban was probably the hardest hit region in the path of the storm.
With my sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters I found a way to get to the airport. The women and children were able to get on a flight out of the city. Unfortunately we had to leave family members behind. I am very worried about their health and safety. I am doing everything I can to get them out of there.
But I need help. All the help I can get. I have never been in a position to ask for help but I know I must have help now. There is a great need there. They need everything. If you are able to help me in any way then please please do so. I will be forever grateful. Please help me help them.
