My sister's battle against cancer

My sister Carina started her fight against cancer a few years ago. We've won a few battles along the way and managed as a family to help her out financially as well to pay for the treatments that she has received up to now.
So far she has had 2 different surgeries to have tumors removed (one between her heart and lung, and one in her kidney which saddly ended up with her losing one of her kidneys) but the type of cancer she's fighting against is extremely rare and after every surgery a new tumor pops up somewhere else in her body.
This last time the tumors came back and are located in her abdominal area, the doctors in Guatemala have once again suggested surgery.
Now, one of the most frustrating thing about this process is that the doctors haven't been able to determine what kind of cancer she has. A few of them have suggested is not a malign tumor, some other ones say it is and some of them have even called it a sarcoma.
That is why we as a family have decided to bring her to Houston, TX and take her to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, hoping that they will be able to determine what type of cancer it is and how to treat it.
We are a family that believes in miracles and we sure are hoping for one, but also we believe that science is a huge blessing for humanity and that's is why we've made that decision.
That decision brings a huge challenge and here is where we need your support and help. Since she is coming into the United States as a tourist we have not been able to find a goverment or private program that will help us finance this process to help her. The diagnosis along will cost about $37,000.
I have to tell you that I am not used to be asking people for money, in fact, I try to avoid it at all cost but this time I really need some help in order to help my sister.
We are working on putting as much money as we can together as a family and moving on only by faith.
Her appointment at the MD Anderson has been confirmed for december 3rd. of 2014 hoping that we will have the money. WE ARE MOVING BY FAITH.
If you know this disease or have had a relative or friend that suffered from it you perfectly understand that it is not easy at all to deal with.
My sister has gone thru different kind of medications, surgeries and chemotherapy and it has been a really hard process for the last few years.
Today I ask for your help. The money will go directly to this cause and I'm commited to do everything in my power to help my sister fight and hopefully defeat this horrible and disgusting desease.

Mi hermana menor se llama Carina y ella comenzo una una guerra contra el cáncer hace algunos años. Hemos ganado como familia algunas batallas juntos en esta jornada y encontrado de una o de otra manera los medios económicos para ayudarla a pagar por cada tratamiento que ha recibido hasta el dia de hoy.
Hasta este punto ha pasado por 2 diferentes cirujías donde le han removido 2 tumores (uno entre su corazón y su pulmón y el otro en uno de sus riñones, que desafortunadamente terminó con la perdida de ese riñón). Desafortunadamente el tipo de cáncer que ella esta padeciendo es extremandamente raro y después de cada cirujía un nuevo tumor aparece en otra area de su cuerpo.
En esta última ocasión los tumores reaparecieron y se apoderaron de su area abdominal. Los doctores en Guatemala han sugerido nuevamente una nueva cirujía.
Ahora, uno de los aspectos mas frustrantes de todo esto es que los doctores no han sabido determinar que tipo de cáncer es, por lo tanto no han acertado en un tratamiento correcto para ella.
Algunos de ellos han dicho que no es un cancer maligno, otros han dicho que si lo es y otros lo han calificado ya como un sarcoma
Es por eso que juntos como familia hemos decidido traerla al centro cancerológico MD Anderson de la ciudad de Houston, con la esperanza de que los médicos aca puedan por lo menos determinar que tipo de cáncer es y como tratarlo.
Como familia creemos que Dios puede hacer un milagro en el cuerpo de mi hermana y si estamos anhelando eso con todo el corazón, pero tambien creemos que Dios ha puesto la ciencia a nuestra disposición para hechar mano de ella, y es por eso que hemos hecho esta decisión de trasladar a mi hermana a la ciudad de Houston.
Es esta decisión la que nos lleva entonces a este próximo reto y es aqui donde necesitamos de su apoyo y ayuda. Mi hermana viene a los Estados Unidos en calidad de turista y es por eso que no hemos podido encontrar un programa gubernamental o privado que nos ayude a cubrir los gastos de todo este proceso. Solamente que la dianostiquen costará aproximadamente $37,000 dólares americanos.
Tengo que ser muy honesto con todos aca, no estoy de verdad acostumbrado a pedir dinero a la gente, de hecho lo evito a toda costa , pero esta vez no podemos solos, de verdad necesitamos ayuda.
Como familia estamos todos poniendo la maxima cantidad de dinero posible, todos estamos colaborando y caminando en fe, a tal grado que la cita para que ella sea examinada en el MD Anderson ha sido ya confirmada para este 3 de diciembre. ESTAMOS ACTUANDO EN FE confiando en que tendremos el dinero para cubrir sus gastos medicos.
Si ustedes conocen del cáncer o han tenido algun familiar o amigo (a) que ha padecido de esta terrible enfermedad saben perfectamente que no es nada fácil lidiar con esto. Mi hermana ya ha recibido diferentes tipos de medicamento, cirujías y quimioterapia, de verdad ha sido un proceso bastante complicado y dificil durante los ultimos años.
Hoy me acerco a ustedes y pido su ayuda. Cada centavo que se recaude ira directamente a esta causa, estoy enteramente comprometido a ayudar a mi hermana Carina hasta el final con todo lo que este en mi poder hacer para sostenerla en esta batalla que deseamos termine con su sanidad y la derrota de esta terrible enfermedad.
