Mobile Awesome Vehicle

Ok, so here's the deal. I've always wanted an old rescue squad. The idea first came about as sort of a joke back when I lived in Denver and joined the Denver Ghost Hunters. I always thought a mobile control center with cool gadgets and equipment would be great. Later another friend and I joked about getting one to chase storms and figured, hey, in the off season we can use it for ghost hunting! Of course we never did it.

Later I became interested in "Tiny Homes" and how people could have all these cool compartments and squeeze everything into a super small space with clever folding tables and beds and whatever.

As of late, I've been looking at people who turn their SUVs into small campers by putting beds with storage space underneath and I started to this with my CRV, but it's just a little too small to be comfortable. So then it all came back to the ambulance idea. As a DIY kind of guy, I enjoy the process of creating things and want to customize the back to be a living and working space. These things have a ton of compartments, and are wired with extra batteries for powering equipment, and just plain fun.

So here's the current plan: I have been thinking about doing a traveling photo project for a few years now. I think turning an old ambulance into a camper/photo shop is what I want to do. I want to travel around the States and do some shooting and camping and seeing what kind of ppl I can meet with this thing. It's a lot more interesting than a boring RV or camper, I think.

Looking at Craigslist, and the one I want to get is going for about $4500. The guy selling it has already started some conversion by installing solar panels, a fridge and futon. I could use a little more cash to work on what needs to be done to make it habitable, but I'm also pretty good at making something out of nothing, so don't worry about that! (I want to install external cameras and some inside monitors, amongst other gadgets and computers.

I'm looking for anyone who wants to pitch in to raise money for this goal. A lot of you know I build stuff and I'm hoping the "Let's see what he does with this!" mindset is a good incentive, but if it's not enough, I will offer signed prints of your choice (from my Store Envy shop or Pixels shop . Contact me if you donate more than $50 or more and I'll get you a print or two) I may even pay you a visit as I roam around in my Matmobiile with my camera.
