Anahata Yoga Health and Education Trust (AYHET) has been around since 1996, enabling people from all over the world to experience the yogic lifestyle and develop life skills as well as promoting health and wellbeing. We are committed to providing experiential learning opportunities & accessible yoga education for all.
We are actively working towards preservation of the natural environment & sustainable development of the retreat infrastructure.
Over the years our main building Surya has been used to house our kitchen, library, office, and shared accommodation facilities. It has now deteriorated to a point where urgent repairs are needed in order to keep our building safe and up to a standard for people who come and stay with us.
So far we have already replaced the roof as this was damaged during Cyclone Ita in April of this year, but other parts of the building are still in urgent need of repair and rebuilding.
As you are well aware, building costs can add up up very quickly, we are having to repair Surya in three stages; the first being the most urgent - to replace and re-clad the accommodation side of the building. This first stage will cost $10,000. The second stage will be to re-clad and repair the front of Surya building as well as replacing the windows - this has been estimated at a further $10,000, and finally stage three is to re-clad the kitchen and replace the windows there, at a cost of $8,000 - giving us our total of $28,000 to restore Surya to its original state of sound and structural integrity.
