Pursuit of Happiness :)

I 'm a 22 year old college student in Santa Barbara. I've been in school since 2010 and still not finished, while most of my friends have already graduated. I'm really passionate about photography and I would love to go out and capture the world. I wish to be a visual journalist and event photographer, but I'm missing one very important thing....a DSLR camera.I went to film school for about a year, but realized it wasn't fiction I wanted to create, but instead reality I wanted to capture around the world. Ideally I would love to shoot at events too, specifically music festivals!
The perks of going to a film school was having all of these amazing cameras and equipment at my disposal but since I left, I haven't been able to continue this hobby or follow my passion. Now I'm stuck at community college which is not where I desire to be.
It'd be awesome to raise enough to buy a canon body, a decent lens, and hopefully a tripod! I've never done anything like this before so I really don't know what to expect, but I figured optimisim is key.
I know there are many awesome people out there!

It's hard enough to save money with my job at Pinkberry because it all goes to rent. I don't want to take out a loan out because I'm already in debt! I just wish to travel and fulfill what I was meant to do before it's too late. Life is short and unexpected.
