Dear Prospective Sponsor,
My name is Ashly Mellor and I am the Head Coach for the Junior Pee Wee division of Escondido Pop Warner’s Big Bad Wolves cheer squad. Escondido Pop Warner is a youth sport league located in North County San Diego. We are one of the longest running Pop Warner leagues in San Diego County and we serve youth ages 5 to 15 for football and cheerleading.
This year is my first year head coaching a cheerleading squad but I have been on the board with this organization for the last 3 years and have been a parent in the organization for the last 5 years.
Why I am writing to you today is to ask for your support. We are a team comprised of 12 young women and 2 young men ages 8 to 11. This year those young men and women have a dream and are working as hard as possible to fulfill this dream. They want to travel to Orlando, Florida to compete in Pop Warner’s National Cheerleading competition in December. Our team has already won 1st Place and earned the coveted Spirit Award in our local competition, which had earned us a spot at Regionals in Long Beach on November 15, 2014, so the chance to go all the way is within our reach!
As I am sure many of you understand, there is a very high cost in youth sports; especially youth cheer. Many of our families can barely afford the registration costs that come along with a single season of Pop Warner and do not have the means to cover the cost of traveling to Florida.
Pop Warner works very hard to get the cost down for our players to travel but we still need help. For the rest we rely fully on sponsorships from the community. All of our squad members are model youth and deserve more than anyone to be able to live out a dream and have an experience they will remember the rest of their lives. They are all very hard workers and their dedication to cheerleading amazes my coaching staff and me daily. All of our young men and women have a “C” or higher GPA in school and strive to keep good grades, complete all their homework and spend 8 hours a week practicing with our squad. At such a young age the commitment they are showing, I feel, needs to be rewarded.
We do hope that sponsoring our team is something you might be willing to consider. We can provide you with further details along with the break down of costs per cheerleader should you like.
