Baby Christopher's Heart & Lungs

Hi friends and family,
As some of you may know, my sister Jennifer and Shawn's baby boy, Christopher, was born with Downs Syndrome. Babies who are born with this congenital defect sometimes have heart problems, that was the case with Christopher. Baby "Chris" was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, that's a big fancy word for describing multiple "holes" in his heart making it very difficult for it to "pump" effectively. 18 days ago, baby Chris underwent open-heart surgery in hopes of repairing the "holes", however the first surgery was not successful because one of the holes (VSD) came undone leading to a backflow of blood that poured into his lungs, making it very difficult for Chris to breath or eat. Because Chris was not "doing good" he underwent a SECOND open-heart surgery to repair the last hole.
He is now post-op day 9 and has developed PULMONARY HYPERTENSION due to scarring(?)
Pulmonary hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of your heart.
Pulmonary hypertension begins when tiny arteries in your lungs, called pulmonary arteries, and capillaries become narrowed, blocked or destroyed. This makes it harder for blood to flow through your lungs, and raises pressure within your lungs' arteries. As the pressure builds, your heart's lower right chamber (right ventricle) must work harder to pump blood through your lungs, eventually causing your heart muscle to weaken and eventually fail.
Pulmonary hypertension is a serious illness that becomes progressively worse and is sometimes fatal. Although pulmonary hypertension isn't curable, treatments are available that can help lessen symptoms and improve your quality of life (www.MayoClinic.com)
I pray for baby Christopher, Jen, Shawn, and sweet Katelyn. This has not been an easy road for them and I'm afraid it will continue. I am asking for ANY donation to help this gracious family out in this time of need.
