Homeless Thanksgiving Dinner Fund

Donation protected
When I was 16 years old I failed to come home one night, not because I was out running the streets, I was at one of my close friend's house staying to prevent his father from beating his mother.  We stayed up all night waiting for the screams, pleas, and inevitable pain that would come unmercifully at the hand of a man who pledged to love her. That experience stuck with me my entire life. It is part of the reason I am asking you to donate to feed homeless women and children who are in domestic violence shelters this Thanksgiving. Look at the numbers:

1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during their lifetime.

Every year, more than 3 million children experience child abuse in their homes.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban  Development, domestic violence is the 3rd leading cause of homelessness among familes.

Look around, if you have a mother and 3 sisters, on average, one of them will experience domestic violence. We know that domestic violence is not a faceless crime. People suffer, women, men, and children are haunted by the memories that remain long after a bruise or broken bone heals. Help us raise money to provide them with a Thanksgiving meal this year. We are feeding at Durham Crisis Response Center in Durham, NC, Safe Alliance in Charlotte, and Bethesda Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Please donate today to make sure children, women, and families have a good meal on Thanksgiving.
