T'Boli Education Project

Tax deductible
Who are the T'Boli People?

These are the indigenous people of the Philippines. These tribes have been living in community, passing down tradition and culture for over 5000 years. They have retained their tribal identities in the face of the onslaught of the modern world.

Great Work Foundation
is developing programs designed to help the T'bolis maintain their strengths of community while introducing some modern technologies in a careful, non-destructive way.

Today, the T'boli have lost much of their land and resources to exploitative, colonial practices -- gold mining and logging destroy the environmental balance which sustains the T'Boli.

Some tribes have banned these bad practices and are living off the bounty of the land. Great Work Foundation
educational projects bring modern, efficient agricultural methods to the T'Boli to enhance their ability to live well in the modern world, while maintaining all their tribal structure.

T'Boli children are often marginalized in the public school system. Great Work Foundation has developed a plan for ensuring that these children receive extra curriculum and support with an eye to helping them maintain their tribal identity and benefit the whole community with a modern education.

Some technologies work well in a more primitive environment. Solar panels can run lights at night, and be used to power hand held devices. Part of the Great Work curriculum introduces the tools and techniques and management of these beneficial modern technologies. A cell phone can connect the T'Boli with banking and commerce. They can sell handicrafts as art pieces on the web from a boutique web shop. They can access information about cattle raising and farming.

One of the Great Work Foundation
projects is the building of educational centers, powered by the sun, and providing a clean well lit place for learning for T'Boli children.

Great Work Foundation
has established a leadership group, called Earthwalkers, who help their fellow T'Bolis participate in the maintenance of the tribal system plus the integration of the modern world into the lives of the people.

The first GoFundMe campaign for Great Work Foundation
is to launch a special curriculums and support program for children selected by the tribe to attend. The needs of each family is addressed to ensure these children have adequate food, and the right study environment and tools for learning. T'Boli history and culture is emphasized along with the introduction of modern education and tools. This is not welfare. This is an investment in the future of a people who have some very deep roots.
