FORWARD CHURCH NAIROBI
We recently built a church for Pastor George Odero in Nairobi that is spreading the Gospel of the finished work of Jesus Christ all over the country. In addition to pastoring a local congregation, George trains pastors. FCN is in need of training materials for leaders, chairs, sound equipment, a projector and a few other supplies to facilitate training. On this trip we will hand deliver books and training materials by Dr. Jim Richards and Andrew Wommack to be distributed to local pastors.
DESERT ROSE SAFEHOUSE
We've partnered with Desert Rose Ministries and JUST1 to build a safehouse for young girls that have escaped early forced childhood marriage and female genetalia mutilation. This trip will serve to scout out a location and meet with the team that will staff and manage the safehouse. We are currently sponsiring girls for education but desire to build a home where the girls will be trained up in an encouraging Christian environment as well as receive education.
POKOT TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT
Lastly we'll follow up with the Pokot tribe living in the village of Chepungus in Northwestern Kenya on Mt. Paka. Three years ago Pastor Clint Byars traveled with Teresa June Webb of Desert Rose Min to take the Gospel to over 200 people who had never heard of Jesus. We discovered their need for water and partnered with other churches to provide a well for the people on Paka. Since this trip the Pokot of Chepungus have agreed to stop the practice of FGM. This tribe is in need of further development in education, hygiene and Christian development.
Your support will impact generations to come in the large city of Nairobi as well as extremely remote mountains of northern Kenya. We are taking a team August 14th through the 29th this year, we'll begin purchasing supplies and materials as soon as we can.
