Help For The Seversons

Donation protected
Hi, thank you for taking the time to visit our campaign site. I am a close friend of the Seversons and I am starting this campaign to help them out financially during a very difficult time in their lives.

The proud and loving parents of three beautiful daughters, Jason and Helen found out that they were expecting another much wanted daughter, due in January of 2015.

Around 20 weeks gestation the Seversons learned that something was potentially seriously wrong with the baby that they had decided to name Kinley Joyce.

Helen is currently 31 weeks pregnant and baby Kinley's future is uncertain. The doctors know for sure that there is a large mass in her lungs which is causing her heart and some of her other organs to be compressed.  A serious condition called CCAM may be the cause for this but as of right now there are no definite answers.

Doctors believe that, best case scenario, Kinley will not be breathing on her own when she is born and will require a lengthy stay in the NICU and possibly surgery to remove the mass located in her lungs.

There are also some other issues that the doctors haven't been able to explain such as a vertebrae that isn't fully formed and potentially an esophageal issue. Helen has also been experiencing polyhydramnios (extra fluid) which is causing her a lot of discomfort and constant pre-term contractions.

Currently the Seversons are traveling two hours round trip multiple times a month (sometimes multiple times a week) to try and get a better idea of the diagnosis before Kinley is born. They are working with a team of doctors and specialists at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Potentially faced with some difficult decisions ahead and so that he can be there for Helen in case she goes into labor early, Jason has been taken out of work. This campaign is to raise funds to help offset the cost of gas, loss of wages (they rely heavily on the overtime Jason usually works), and potentially money to pay for an extended stay at the Ronald McDonald House when baby Kinley is born. And, of course, the holidays are upon us and trying to keep a sense of normalcy for their three children is very important to them during this stressful time.

I am amazed at the strength of my good friend and admire her desire to be there to support her husband and children through this trying time, through her own discomfort and emotional turmoil.

Please consider helping. Any little bit will help them out and I know that Jason, Helen, Chloe, Georgette, Scarlette, and baby Kinley would be forever grateful.
