Help Ashley Graduate College!

Before I begin, let me explain my situation: I am a fifth year undergraduate student at Salem State University. I had to take an extra year due to medical reasons (I had my appendix out freshmen year and heart surgery my sopohmore year, which has ultimately delayed my graduation).

My name is Ashley Potter. I have come from a middle to lower class family in Springfield, Massachusetts. My mom has been my sole providor for the past 23 years, but she works as a waitress and all of her money goes towards her own bills which leaves her unable to help me with this situation. She wants to see me graduate, and more than anything, I want that for myself as well, but I have exhausted every single possible avenue to get the amount I still need. I've paid every dollar I can out of pocket (I do work, but I have many other bills and medical expenses that I am responsible for). I have officially maxed out the amount of loans you are able to take out as an undergraduate student due to my fifth year status, which goes beyond the traditional 4-year undergrad program in the U.S.

I need to graduate. I have come too far to go back to working a minimum wage job - the idea of it is absoluely out of the question. I have beaten the odds that all doctors set up for me when they told me I wouldn't make it to five due to my heart disease, much less twenty three and on the verge of graduating college.

I have worked hard and integrated myself into my school community to make a name for myself upon graduation. I am the editor-in-chief of Salem State's student newspaper and I was recently inducted into Lambda Pi Eta. I have job offerings for after I graduate but I'm never going to be able to achieve them if I can't get past fall semester.
