Amanda's Medical Fund

Donation protected
My name is Ashley White. I have started this campaign to help raise funds for my best friend Amanda Giroux (Rosebush).

As some of you may already know, Amanda has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (Pancreatic Cancer).

Amanda's battle began on January 27th, 2017 with a trip to Belleville General Hopsital. Amanda underwent an Ultra Sound and MRI as well as bloodwork. It was then determined that she was suffering from Pancrentitis and was admitted for 5 days. After that, she was sent home with medications and was told to rest and recover.

Amanda began to feel a little better, but then on February 9th, found herself back at Belleville General Hospital with what the doctors felt was another flare up of Pancrentitis. After being sent home again, she found herself back at BGH on March 2nd, 22nd and again on the 23rd. This was all beginning to take a major toll on Amanda's life. Not to mention her wonderful husband Jesse, and their beautiful 3 year old little girl Kynsley.

It was on April 4th, 2017, that I had taken Amanda to Kingston General Hospital. Amanda wanted answers. We all wanted answers. After sitting in emerg for a short period of time, they called Amanda in. It was then that her body became an experiment. Amanda soon underwent several series of tests. She was admitted to KGH that very night. This was very difficult on everyone as Amanda was no longer close to home. Her husband and daughter missed her very much, but we were happy to know that doctors at KGH were not sending Amanda home until they knew what was making her so ill.

Amanda had quite a bit of blood work taken, as they thought she had an internal infection. The doctors were not getting the answers they were looking for. She was then sent for an ultra sound so they could get a better understanding of what was going on inside of Amandas body. It was during the ultra sound that they had determined that her liver was enlarged. Again, not the answers the doctors were looking for.

Amanda was then sent to have a CT scan with dye. It was then that the doctors had their answers. The CT scan showed several tumors inside of Amandas body. The main one being on her pancreas measuring 3 cms by 4 cms. It was also determined that the duct in her liver was being blocked. Amanda underwent a procedure to have a stint put in the duct of her liver through a scope. The doctors were also able to confirm again what they had seen on the CT scan. Amanda was then diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic andenocarcinoma, and given 12 months to live.

Amanda has a long journey ahead of her, but as we all know, she is a fighter. Amanda has a beautiful personality and would do anything for anyone. Amanda needs us now, more than ever. As I'm sure some of you are aware, medical costs add up, and add up quickly. Between travelling to appointments and hospital parking. There are also different medical centers that Amanda's mother, Bev, has been looking into. Some in the United States, and some overseas, which all cost several thousands of dollars. Amanda is a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to so many. Please, if you can make even the smallest donation to help Amanda along her journey, and aleviate some of the financial stress at this difficult time, it would be truly appreciated by not only Amanda, but Jesse, Kynsley and her family and friends.
