My name is Ryan Siggal. I am a competitive powerlifter, certified personal trainer, and aspiring entrepreneur. After graduating Auburn Hills Christian in 2009, I left my hometown of Pontiac, Michigan to join the United States Marine Corps. As an aviation electronics technician, I am currently stationed in San Diego, California where I work on F-18 aircraft. My off-duty hobbies and interests include history, traveling, sports, working out, and powerlifting!
In October 2013, I became a member of the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA). That very same month, I participated in my first competition, the Military-Law Enforcement National Powerlifting Championships, at Camp Pendleton. I finished the competition placing 1st in the 148 lb weight group in my only event, the bench press, with a lift of 220 lbs. In January 2014, I participated in my second competition, the Camp Pendleton Open. This time I participated in all three powerlifting events: the bench press, the squat, and the deadlift. I finished the competition placing 2nd in the 148 lb weight group for full powerlift with a bench press of 225 lbs; a squat of 286 lbs; and a deadlift of 358 lbs, earning myself a spot to compete in the 2014 USPA National Championships in July in Las Vegas, Nevada!
I have been working extremely hard in preparation for nationals! In recent training, I have surpassed my personal records in competition with a bench press of 275 lbs; a squat of 335 lbs, and a deadlift of 365 lbs. My goals for nationals are to bench press 305 lbs; to squat 350 lbs; and deadlift 405, which would not only place me in the "1000 lb Club", but also qualify me for the 2014 International Powerlifting League World (IPL) Powerlifting Championships in November!
