Many of you will have seen Gobi carrying the Olympic torch in 2012 and will know his story of overcoming Spina Bifida whilst enduring over 30 operations along the way.

After recovering from yet another major operation and a 6 month stay in hospital, Gobi, unphased by this adversity, began his badminton journey.  His entry into competitive play in 2007 culminated in 3 gold medals in the Four Nations Parabadminton Championships in 2009 and three podium places in the European Championships in 2012.

A silver medal in the World Championships in 2013, appeared to be the springboard to further his badminton career at an international level.

With the 2020 Paralympics set in his sights, his aspirations came crashing down to earth when he discovered he had a serious heart condition.

Having had open heart surgery and three months in hospital, Gobi is beginning the long and arduous road to recovery.

Rehabilitation in hospital , whilst effective, was cut short prematurely and Gobi now faces a lengthy, painful and costly process to resume his active lifestyle.

Please support Gobi in getting back to normality so he can prepare to continue his badminton aspirations.
