George Clooney's ACL Surgery

HELP ME RAISE (UPDATED) $2,900 SO MY DOG CAN RUN, JUMP AND PLAY AGAIN!

Hello friends, family and animal lovers across the internet,

George Clooney is in bad shape.

No, not the handsome Oscar-winning actor. I'm referring to an even more handsome, and all-around awesome dog who just celebrated his third birthday.

As you can see in the picture (above), he's not happy, and for good reason: The ACL in his right, rear leg has torn. As a result, he can barely walk, eat, go to the bathroom and even sleep since it's painful for him to lay in any other position than the one pictured.

The trouble began a few months ago when he tried to jump on my bed, and fell over in a fit of excruciating yelping. A veternarian and a specialist informed me he had a minor ACL tear -- an injury that will not heal naturally.

Happy George:

Since the tear was not complete, surgery was not immediately required. I had hoped to be in a better financial situation when it was, but unfortunately, I am not.

The entire procedure costs $2,850. That's money I don't have. I don't even have that sum available in credit. It's an additional burden to $22,000 in student loans and over $5,000 in credit card debt.

So, for the first time ever, I'm turning to crowdfunding, a tool that has raised $55,492 for...a potato salad. Not to mention $6,820 for some guy to write "stupid things with clouds in the sky," and $12,985 to make a giant Lionel Richie head

I'd like to think George Clooney's cause is more important than all of these things.

So I ask -- no, I BEG:

Can you donate a few bucks so George can get the surgery he needs? If not, can you share this crowdfunding campaign on social media to see if anybody else can spare a few bucks?

I'm setting my fundraising goal at $2,900 to account for SOME of the 7.9% fee that will be deducated by GoFundMe, the rest ($175) of which I will cover, because it's stupid for me to ask for money from people and not kick in any myself!

Ideally, I'd want 2,900 people to hand over just $1 each, because I hate the idea of burderning others for something that is my responsibility. EXCEPT...GoFundMe's minimum donation is $5, which puts a wrench in my plan of making this super easy on everybody.

I've written about numerous crowdfunding campaigns for TheWrap in an effort to raise awareness for cool projects, so I hope I can cash in on some crowdfunding karma.

Thank you!
