Greenbrier East High School engineering students from Lewisburg, West Virginia are collaborating with students from the Anglo School in Sorocaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil on an engineering design project. They are working to transform an approximately 5000 sq. ft. area at the Anglo School into a social/community area using recycled materials to create furniture and other items. The student teams meet several times a week through various video conferencing methods and use various research and design methods in their work. This will allow the students to work on an international level which will promote global networking for the students and the schools. Our hope is that the design can be replicated and implemented in other communities in Brazil and the U.S.
We are raising money to cover travel and lodging expenses for a trip to take the 12 students and 4 chaperones to Brazil for a week. During this week the students will work on site with their Brazilian teammates. Thank you.
