The Mid-Atlantic dance & electronic music event that brings back a feeling where parties were about the music, the friends, “the scene” and a feeling of belonging. It was not to be seen or to just see a superstar DJ…
It was, and is, about the whole experience!
Mission: bring everyone together as one big family to celebrate dance music, expose new artists, educate those in the biz & celebrate each other.
MIXOLOGY is a passion & a crusade I embarked on several years ago as I believe the commercialized "EDM" corporate takeover has caused people to overlook the love of the music itself. I also believe that those trying to make a name for themselves need the tools that those that have gone before them can provide. And so MIXOLOGY was created to provide a showcase of talent as well as an educational outlet for fans of dance music and the artists that play and produce it.
And who am I you ask?
Just someone who loves the music, has a lot of friends who DJ & produce & who wants to help them along in their careers.
I don't DJ, I don't write or produce music but I love it! It touches my soul & moves my feet which is exactly what it's meant to do!
I am an event producer, bartender & florist by trade but dance music and this event are my passion. I discovered House, Drum n Bass, Breaks and more while going thru my 2nd round of Breast Cancer & it was something that helped me deal with that as I could go to a club, dance all night & forget what terrible things my body was going thru. I would lose myself to the music and bond with friends who felt the same way.
Many years later (thankfully!), I still love & lose myself to the music & of course want to continue with this event & the mission of it!
Over the years I have funded this event thru my "day jobs" and with help from some others but it needs more than that to really build and become all that I envision so this is where I need your help!
