A music building for VoxSkool!

www.voxskool.com My name is Victoria BeeBee and I am a professional singer and vocal coach. For the last 20 years I have been performing and touring world-wide with many famous artists and releasing my own albums as a singer/songwriter... but enough about me! :0)
My passion has been and remains teaching children and adults to sing and grow in confidence, which I’ve been doing over the past decade by teaching 1-1 singing sessions and groups of singers locally and further afield. However, recently I realised that there is a bigger benefit which can be gained through music - it has a great potential to help people disadvantaged in one way or another. I would like to use music as a therapy to help people suffering with depression, Alzheimer’s’, anxiety, learning disabilities and many more ever increasing issues in our modern day society.
The reason for this campaign is that I have personally been encouraged so much by what health benefits music can bring to people in need, that I have decided to advance my dream of running a singing and music school (VoxSkool!) which is less about school and more about cool! and to follow my dream of running a music building in Fleet Hampshire UK, where any one from any background can come and visit and take part in singing and confidence building workshops, group and private sessions and music therapy with the use of instruments and technology to hand also. It would also give singers and musicians a platform to hone their talents in prepartion for performing live in public and possibly going on to have great careers in music.
I have already had first-hand experience working with and witnessing the results that music therapy can bring to depression sufferers and people with short term memory loss as well as language barriers and my aim is to build up new techniques along the way to help people get back on their feet.
It has to be understood that I’m talking about real health benefits for real people and help for isolated individuals to return and integrate back in to every day society and the community. The integration process is to be accomplished via VoxChoir! (the singing group/choir) which was set up a couple of years ago, enabling people who love music to perform 'their song' whatever the ability and to pursue their own personal goals whilst sharing experiences with support form the group.
VoxChoir! is so much fun! It's a community group open to all members of the public where they can support each other in a happy non-judgemental environment full of laughter and encouragement for all, which also aims to provide sustained recovery for the clients who pass through VoxSkool’s 1-1 tuition.
I’m really looking forward to kicking of this campaign for a music building in the hope to support others in the wider community, to offer a place of inspiration.
