Hey everyone! Thank you for your interest in this concept! My name is Kathryn, and I have loved animals since before I could speak. I currently work as a pet sitter/dog walker/dog trainer. I have always said if I ever win the lottery I will buy tons of land and devote my time to rehabilitating animals that need the help.
Why wait to help though? I want to make finding homes for dogs easier for the people who want to adopt. This is why I decided to start Furever.
About Furever:
First, and foremost, this will be a phone app to connect homeless animals with potential adopters.
There will be three different types of profiles users can set up.
1. Pet Parent (Free) Upload a profile for your pet, or search for a new family member.
2. Rescue Organization (free)-add as many pets/information about them as needed.
3. Pet Professional (Pay to join, list your services to users in your area, aiming to provide the pet parents with easy access to all the services they will need once they adopt).
1. In order to reduce the amount of rehoming, users/potential adopters will fill out a questionnaire to determine what pet is right for their specific wants/living conditions.
2. Rescues/shelters will build profiles for each of the dogs they are looking to rehome, in order to match them with appropriate homes (based on their questionnaire profile).
3. The App would then match potential adopters with dogs that fit their lifestyle and experience level with animals that have been added to the site by rescues and shelters. If an adopter is interested in a dog, swipe right!
The secondary part of this app will be using you pet profile to match pet parents with zip code appropriate services for their furry friends. Once you adopt there will be many things you need to consider for your new family member, including, but not limited to; Pet sitting, vets, trainers, walkers, pet stores, etc.
Owners who fill out a pet profile (whether or not they adopt through the site) can then look for all types of pet professionals nearby. This will be a unique way of creating a strong network of pet professionals, and having a specialized platform for people in the industry.
Pet professionals can pay to list their services to their specified range of target users. Instead of throwing money out the window to "quote" the customers could take their time viewing all available profiles and pick the right pros for them. This way pet owners would not get discouraged if they to not get messaged by someone they do not think is the right fit
***The photo I have used is of Wilson, a German Shepherd who has been taken in by a recue located close to my home. Wilson was so starved, and desperate for human affection that he wandered into a neighbors yard and refused to leave.
