Just over a year ago we took a leap of faith and started our food truck business. We didn't go into the business blindly. We spent several months researching and preparing to take on the new business venture. With brand new food trucks costing 100k+ we simply couldn't afford it. We spent months looking for a used truck and finally found one in Florida. After spending several hours with the owner, we were confident in our decision to purchase the truck and get our business on the road. We were told the truck was in great shape, had a new rebuilt engine, transmission, brakes etc. Boy were we fooled.
From the moment the truck was delivered to
Pittsburgh we had issues. We had to have it towed before we ever even drove it. We took it to different mechanics for a myriad of problems. Each time we got it back something else went wrong. Because of all of the mechanical troubles, we had the truck for 5 months before we were able to get it on the road and even at that point for the next 2 months it was in and out of the repair shop.
We were fortunate enough to have a good spring and summer with the truck but it certainly was nowhere near enough to dig us out of the huge hole we started in. Just last week we learned that the truck needs a new transmission. We can't continue to drive it and we are still trying to pay for previous repairs.
This is where you come in. We have exhausted every other resource we have. A bank loan? Not enough income to back it.
Small Business Administration? Nope, have to have 40% down and collateral to cover the cost of the loan.
We truly believe in our products and we are not ready to walk away from our dreams. We humbly ask that if you have even a dollar to spare we would be forever grateful. We've been truly blessed to have the opportunity to go to work every day doing what we love but we've had so much misfortune on this business venture and it saddens us to think it may all be coming to an end.
