Dear Friends,
Franciso "Pancho" Prado is a friend of many but specially a mentor for the youth in his hometown Matamoros, Mexico. His background in Electrical Engineering and post-graduate work in pedadogy makes him a unique asset in a community eager for individuals capable of mentoring its youth constantly threatened by drug cartels and criminal activities.
Pancho has devoted his adult life to teach STEM courses in poor suburbs where resources are scarced and hope is hard to find. Today, Pancho is asking us to help him finding hope after spending the last month battling an unknown liver disease threatening his life. Pancho has tested negative for hepatitis, cirrhosis, gallstones yet no diagnosis has been provided. Friends in the medical community were able to get him an emergency appoinment in a major government hospital in Mexico City where they have the equipment to continue further analysis in hopes to find a cure.
Immediate action will be required in order for Pancho to have a chance to fight this unknown desease since his health is deterioring quickly. As of today, his friends in Mexico have rallied together and came up with $500 dollars out of the $4000 required to cover medical transportation and hospital expenses. They are also organizing further activities to close the gap.
I have known Pancho for the last 8 years and I can testify his positive impact among his friends and community. By helping Pancho, you are helping a community desperate for good teachers and role models. Please help us through your donation to close the gap and give Pancho the opportunity to live.
