Donations in ANY amount are more than welcome!
The Nevada Union High School Agricultural Department is facing possible closure and needs our help.
State budget cuts have already had a deep impact on the Nevada Union High School Ag Dept. Two teacher positions were slashed from the budget, and the school faces further cuts that will ultimately shut the program down.
Farming is Nevada County's core economic resource. Without an agricultural program at the high school, Nevada County youth will have no educational resources to support the future of farming in the county.
These budget cuts have a deep, long-term impact on the economy and local sustainable farming in Nevada County.
We have established a website at http://www.foods4thought.org
and will hold a food festival fundraiser on June 30, 2012 at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley.
Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated, but we do have some rewards at increasing levels of support.
