Flying Donations

This October, the Youngstown Regional Film Commission is bringing the film industry to the Youngstown region.

The Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties will benefit greatly from the entertainment industry, as currently being seen around town now. We have already successfully handled film shoots within the past three months and created many local jobs and revenues for food, vehicle rentals, location rentals and other revenues for the tri counties . We have multiple film projects in discussion for filming here and are in need of some funds to help us to further build the infrastructure needed and for marketing our area. We have an immediate need  to create a training program to help educate the local workforce on the new jobs that will be available ....when productions come to town.

The funds will be used for our 501C3 application process, with a local accounting firm, for website development and database programming for the commission's area database for local film crew, film locations, equipment and supporting vendors, and marketing expenses.

Donations this month will be used to fly the commission out to Santa Monica, November 4th for the American Film Market, where we will meet and greet many producers, studios and production companies and introduce to them the incentives for filming in our area. We have many great attributes to our region and a vast pool of talent undiscovered, and we want to show Hollywood, which is a real project for the film commission.
This endeavor is called "Project: Young Hollywood," a plan to connect Youngstown to Hollywood, once again. The Warner Brother's Theater, our local celebrities and film crew who now live and work in the  entertainment industry in Hollywood, are the ties we pride ourselves on. We are bringing Hollywood back home and need your help this month.

Jobs and economic impact are greatly desired, and this industry will benefit our area like we see in Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

All donations to the nonprofit are not tax exempt at this current time, but will be retroactive, as we will be filing our 501C(3) application very soon. We are currently filed as an Ohio based nonprofit organization.


Your name will be placed in a hat for every $20.00 you donate and when the film commission returns from AFM, on or around Thanksgiving,2015,  we will pull one name to give away a tour in a  water plane flight over your home town ! 2nd and 3rd prizes are being put together now.
The flight will also be filmed from the plane(GoPro) and a copy will be given to you. The water plane will take off from Drake's Landing and Avion onThe Water

***This flight give away is only for local residents and does not apply for donations given from individuals not available in the area to redeem it. Some restrictions may apply,per pilot, medical conditions or other items of concern. The flight can be transferrable.- Rules and Regulations link coming soon.
